Biography
Sophie Lahusen was born in Bremen and grew up between two nations in Germany and France, her father a pianist, her mother a violinist. She studied art history after school in Hamburg and Rome. During and after her studies, Sophie gained a lot of professional experience, especially in journalism, working for internships and as a freelancer in Brazil, in Strasbourg at ARTE, at taz and public broadcasters. Since 2020, she has been studying documentary film at the HFF Munich. In addition to her studies, Sophie volunteers as a end-of-life-care, a social support in prison, and a recreational companion for children with autism. The themes of family, death and love are always present in her films.
