"CORDON" by Anton Mezulić Wins the First Doc Around Europe Award
CORDON Wins First Doc Around Europe Award at FIPADOC
In a time of increasing financial pressure on the documentary industry, with budget cuts affecting filmmakers and institutions alike, supporting new talent has become more crucial than ever. That is why we at Doc Around Europe are particularly proud to have established the Doc Around Europe Award—not just as a symbolic recognition, but as a concrete step in fostering the future of European documentary cinema.
The first-ever Doc Around Europe Award at FIPADOC has been awarded to CORDON by Anton Mezulić (Croatia, France), produced by Oliver Sertić and co-produced by Victor Ede.
The award includes a €3,000 cash prize for the production company behind the winning project. With this prize, Doc Around Europe continues its mission to support emerging documentary filmmakers across Europe.
A jury composed of representatives and programmers from the Doc Around Europe member festivals selected the winning project as the best pitch by a young European talent. The award will now be granted annually at one of the partner festivals.
